Our mission in life is to create amazing skin care products that will help your skin look and feel its best, no matter your age. As we take care of your skin, we also strive to take care of our planet. We are always looking for ways to minimize our carbon footprint and improve our environmental and sustainability practices.
Here are some highlights…
Inner packaging. We are moving away from plastic and towards sugarcane plastic, which is a bioplastic obtained from renewable sources, specifically sugar cane ethanol instead of petroleum. We also watch how much glass we use… it is more environmentally friendly than plastic, but so much heavier, which means the carbon footprint of shipping glass jars is much higher than we would like.
Outer packaging. We have recently started using FSC-certified paper and soy ink for all of our boxes. The Forest Stewardship Council certifies that the paper has been responsibly harvested. When possible, we are also removing boxes altogether (as we recently did for our Skin repair gel), or making our boxes smaller (as we recently did for our Tightening eye gel).
Packing for shipping. We recently reviewed the packaging we use to ship our orders, decreasing the size of our boxes to ensure we are not “overpackaging” shipments. We also use paper to pack boxes and minimize bubble wrap. We never use peanuts.
Warehouse systems. Our warehouse has a rooftop solar array that generates 70% of the power. We use LED and motion-activated lighting throughout, and perform regular energy audits. Our warehouse is GOTS certified and while this certification applies to textiles and not cosmetics, the practices apply to all.
Finally, we are 100% vegan and cruelty-free, because we also believe in taking care of animals.
