Esthetician Spotlight: Jaeda Kadrmas, Face Foundrié Fargo
Throughout October, which we have deemed National Esthetician Appreciation Month, we are highlighting some of the amazing estheticians we work with. We are proud to partner with Face Foundrié, a focused facial bar company with over 70 locations. Our CEO Ada Polla (AP) visited the Fargo, ND location and received a fabulous facial by Jaeda Kadrmas (JK), who she interviews below.
AP:What was your journey to becoming an esthetician?
JK:I graduated with my Bachelor's in English and Publishing during Covid and spent a year trying to find a job in that field. After no luck, I sought out a different route and enrolled in Esthetics school. I had always loved the beauty industry and found a hidden love for skincare and connecting with others. I came to Esthetics as a way to help others. I find so much joy in building genuine relationships with my clients and helping them achieve positive transformations in their skin and in their confidence. This has been an unexpected journey in my life, which has given me new friendships, experiences, and knowledge.
AP:Where do you currently practice?
JK:I have been with Face Foundrié Fargo for 2.5 years.
AP:How did you discover Alchimie Forever? What was your first Alchimie Forever product?
JK:I discovered Alchimie Forever through Face Foundrié when we launched them as one of our partners. The first product I tried was the Kantic Brightening Moisture Mask.
AP:What is your favorite Alchimie Forever product and why?
JK:I can’t pick just one! I love the Gentle Refining Scrub and the Kantic Brightening Moisture Mask because they both leave my skin feeling smooth, healthy, bright, hydrated, and loved.
AP:What Alchimie Forever product do you use on or recommend the most to clients?
JK:Again, I can’t pick just one! I have three that I recommend the most, especially this time of year: Gentle Refining Scrub, Pigment Perfecting Serum, and Advanced Retinol. Come Fall, many of my clients want to reverse sun damage, so we do a series of chemical peels. I stress how important at home care is as well, how the above products will help with their concerns. As per Ada's recommendation, I love pairing the Pigment with the Retinol serum, and of course, everyone should be exfoliating weekly.
AP:What is your #1 skin care recommendation to your clients.
JK:Wear SPF. Nothing else matters or will benefit your skin if you don't wear SPF.
AP:What’s your skin care hot take/unpopular opinion/controversial idea?
JK:Facials do not replace at home care and your skin concerns will not be resolved with just one service. You also need to put in the work in order to see results. Also, don't go to TikTok for skincare advice!
AP:What’s one thing you avoid at all costs when taking care of your skin?
JK:Going out in the sun without SPF.
AP:Can you talk about the connection between self care and skin care?
JK:We all like things that make us feel good about ourselves; exercising, eating healthy, getting outside, drinking lots of water. Taking care of your skin fits into that category. When you take care of your mind and body, you feel rejuvenated. It's more than just washing your face. It's about feeling confident in your raw, unfiltered skin and seeing the changes along the way. Whether it's having an in-depth routine at home or getting monthly facials, taking the time to care for yourself and your skin just makes you feel better, especially when you notice positive changes in your skin.
AP:What’s your favorite form of self care?
JK:Doing an extensive skincare routine with a mask (LED or other form), taking a long everything shower, and reading with a cup of tea.
AP:Take us through your morning routine.
JK:As a new mom, my mornings are often fast paced and I don't know exactly how much time I will have to get ready independently. With that being said, I keep my morning routine simple (for an Esthetician). I start with a Vitamin C serum, followed by a collagen toner, Face Reality Hydraremedy Gel Serum from Face Reality, Bioeffect EGF serum, Alchimie Forever Tightening Eye Gel, Face Reality Cran Peptide Cream, and Colorescience Flex SPF.
AP:What are you excited about right now?
JK:Growing as an Esthetician and a mom, and watching my son learn something new every day.
