Esthetician Spotlight: Jenna Macchirole
Meet Jenna Macchirole, a licensed esthetician, and discover her expert skin care tips, daily routine, and professional insights for healthy skin.
Our Co-Founder and CEO Ada Polla met Jenna back in 2015 when she received her first Heyday facial at their original NOMAD location. Since then, Jenna and Ada have become friends, and have continued to work together – first at Heyday, and now at The Esti Confidential. And if you think Jenna looks familiar, it’s because she should, as she is our resident esthetician expert and Tik Tok voice.
AP:What was your journey to becoming an esti?
JM:I got into esthetics in 2011, fresh out of college, struggling with my own breakouts and wanting to understand how the skin works. Plus I was searching for a career that wasn’t a 9-5 office job; I knew I needed something hands-on and creative. I quickly discovered a love for the industry and a talent for connecting with clients. My esthetician career highlights include performing facials for some A-list celebrities in an exclusive NYC health and fitness club, opening the very first Heyday shop in Nomad NY, and expanding my esthetic licensure to CA for a three year career move to Los Angeles.
AP:Where do you currently practice?
JM:Since starting a family I’ve stepped away from the treatment room but have very much kept my hands in the industry, with two part time gigs: First, I create social media content for skin care brands (including Alchimie Forever!) seeking to bring sound professional esthetic insight to a space filled with influencer noise. Second, I’m co-founder of The Esti Confidential, a private community and app built exclusively for licensed estheticians. It’s a place where skin care professionals can connect with one another, ask questions, discover new products and techniques, and learn directly from some of the industry's leading brands. Esthetics is constantly evolving, and we created The Esti Confidential to give estheticians a trusted space to grow alongside one another.
AP:How did you discover Alchimie Forever? What was your first Alchimie Forever product?
JM:I used to give facials to Ada Polla, Co-Founder & CEO of Alchimie Forever! Ada came into Heyday in NYC the year we opened (2015!) for frequent staff trainings and we instantly clicked and stayed connected. The Kantic Brightening Moisture Mask was my first Alchimie Forever product. I used it for facial massage - its silky texture is unique from any other massage medium. It instantly won me over and probably 90% of my clientele had it in their home routine! I crushed my retail sales goals with this product alone.
AP:Favorite Alchimie Forever product and why?
JM:That’s hard, but as of now my favorite product is Protective Day Cream SPF 23. I’m breakout prone, super picky about sunscreen textures, and being in my late 30’s am looking for every step of my routine to be a cocktail of age-protective ingredients. This product checks every box. It’s a sunscreen, hydrator, and anti-aging cream all-in-one.
AP:What Alchimie Forever product do you use or recommend the most to clients?
JM:That’s a toss-up between Kantic Brightening Moisture Mask and Kantic Calming Cream. Kantic Calming Cream is my latest top seller. I call it the “goldilocks moisturizer” - not too heavy, not too light, it’s just right. Sometimes that’s all I have to say as I sample it on their hand, and it just sells!
AP:Your #1 skin care recommendation to your clients.

JM:Don’t overcomplicate the routine. No one’s bathroom cabinet should be overflowing with products. Find a simple routine that works for you and stick with it. Your best skin comes with consistent use of the right products.
AP:What’s your skin care hot take/unpopular opinion/controversial idea?
JM:My dogs sleep in bed with me, on my pillow case. I refuse to admit this contributes to my breakouts! Haha. They are staying.
AP:What’s one thing you avoid at all costs when taking care of your skin?
JM:Face oils. As a combination skin type and makeup wearer (still going strong with the bronzer since ‘10), I really don’t think it’s for me.
AP:Can you talk about the connection between self care and skin care?
JM:Self care is synonymous with self respect in my eyes. Taking 10 minutes in the morning and evening to perform a skin care routine is a small way to give back to the body and mind that serves you all day.
AP:What’s your favorite form of self care (ie. how do you unwind)?
JM:Going for a walk. Preferably alone! No headphones, ever.
AP:Take us through your morning routine.
JM:After waking, I always put on a fluffy robe, make coffee, and sit outside while letting my two dogs out. I’ve been trying to stick with this “sunlight before screenlight” idea - so no morning scrolling. Not long after, my toddler wakes up and the day starts. It’s become part of our routine to have my son with me as I do my morning skin care. He loves a spritz of hydrating mist, it makes him laugh so much. We then make breakfast and I sit down to go over emails and work to-do’s while a few episodes of Bluey play in the background. I love our mornings!
AP:What are you excited about right now?
JM:The season ahead! We’re slowly but completely transforming the interior of our house (goodbye, IKEA couch from 2016—you served us well!). Each week it feels a little more like us. It’s become such a fun creative outlet, and I’ve realized I really needed something to focus on outside of work and mom life. My design inspiration? 1950s Italian Riviera meets Palm Beach.
